Step 1: Lock the concept. Build the world.

The beauty of virtual production is control - no weather issues, no location faff, and no limits to your imagination.

To make the most of it, come in with:

  • A clear tone or reference point
  • An idea of environment (real-world, stylised, or surreal?)
  • How will your artist interact with that world

Smart tip: We can source backgrounds and adapt existing 3D environments to match your brief - no need to start from scratch.

Step 2: Choose a setup that suits your scale

Not every music video needs a 20m LED wall. We offer a range of setups to suit different briefs, crew sizes and budgets:

  • CUBE Studio (West London): Large LED volume for hero shots, sweeping visuals, or bigger set-ups.
  • CUBE Studio Windsor - 5x3m LED volume fo compact music videos
  • CUBE StudioX (mobile): We bring the VP setup to you - ideal for any size production and studios.

Efficient move: For performance-led videos, a 5x3m LED wall may be all you need to deliver maximum impact and make that budget work to its max.

Step 3: Think theatre, not chaos

Virtual production works best when it’s well-rehearsed and precisely blocked. That doesn’t mean you lose spontaneity — it means you make the most of your time.

We’ll help you plan:

  • Shot lists and lens choices
  • Playback sync with your track
  • Lighting to match the virtual world
  • Environment changes (time of day, weather, movement)

Our on-set team works with your director, DOP and artist to bring it all together.

Step 4: Keep your crew lean, keep your output high

We’ve shot full music videos in a single day using small, agile crews. With the right planning, virtual production can remove resets, reduce rig time, and give your DOP complete control.

Need a full team? We can scale up. Want to keep it tight? We can provide core VP support.

Step 5: Shoot it once, finish it fast

One of the biggest perks of VP is speed. What you see on the day is what you get - no green screen guesswork or extended post.

Still want to add polish?

  • Grade and finish in post
  • Tweak environments or extend scenes
  • Add stylised overlays, VFX or design

But more often than not, you’ll walk away with 95% of your video ready to cut without leaving the studio.
